Passion Project 2.0: Brainstorming

So I have been spending the last two weeks brainstorming ideas. I have to say that I have a fairlly decent amount of ideas. The problem is deciding on which one to use, should I write what I know and tak the route of fantasy and magic or do I write historical fiction which stopps me to a degree cause that requires research and "historically accuracy". also another problem is that they al kind of steal peices from each other

A New Passion Project

For my passion project I plan to write a story and make it great. I chose this project because I like stories and enjoy writing, and I wanted to do something very different from my previous project. I plan to do this by justing writing and putting my thoughts out there, currently I do not have a mentor though so yeah.

Making things square

In my previous post I mentioned the importance of making things square. This just means that making angles 90 degrees I had to do this for the lower half of my dog house more then the top, because I made my rooo at a slant. The easiest way to make sure your angles are correct would be to use a square, which is a tool that is shapped like an L and is 90 degrees on every angle. Althouht I feel like my square was a it warped from the cold temparatues and thus wasn't 90 degrees like I though. Once you start you must follow through with the plan. My plan was to just stick a sheet of plywood on top to make my roof. But my mentor said I should insulate the roof, which I did, but my plywood on the side did not meet the roof due to the change in my plans. Which resulted in theri being cracks in between the roof and the walls. So always follow your plan.

Dog House Update

Well I finished my dog house. and it looks pretty good. I just have to make sure that my dog actually uses it. I learned a fair bit during this project.

I learned the importance of making sure that what ever you use to make sure that your angle's are square, that it should also be square.

I learned that planning can be very useful when you are trying to use as little plywood as possible.

I learned that you should never compromise your plan for anything, it makes it a whole lot harder.\

So yeah. I don't know what I'm suppose to do now.

Dog House Update

Well my walls have been put up on the inside and now all i have to do is the roof. My plan for the roof is to cut some plywood so that it will cover the inside of the dog house, Then i plan on putting some support beams on top of that with some insulation inbewteen before i put on another sheet of plywood and shingles on top. Im hoping to finally finish the dog house tommorrow.

Dog House Update

So last week I spent alot of time working on my dog house. I picked up some insulation and started puting that in and covering the walls with sheets of plywood. This weekend I hope to finish off the walls and then some time this week put the roof on. What I learned recently is that companies fit a lor of insulation in to a small packaging. I bought two bags of insulation not knowing how much was actually was in their. Pretty sure im going to have a bag and a half of insulation left over after Im done.
These pictures are of my progress so far.

Dog House Update

I didn't make a lot of progress on my dog house this week. I was able to put a door frame there in place, it's probably about 2 feet high and 1' 6" feet wide . I'm hoping to place ply wood on the inside before screwing it down on the base by the end of this weekend.
